🇺🇸 Learning from our past mistakes related to jet lag, Lee Lee and I started the day rather chill while Ray Man enjoyed a long visit to dreamland. In the afternoon we went to Kacang Putih Village in Ipoh to grab plenty of Kacang Putih (also known as Bombay Mix) Snacks. We visited several stores and bought more snacks than intended, of course!
🇩🇪 Aus unseren früheren Fehlern in Bezug auf Jetlag lernend, starteten Lee Lee und ich den Tag ganz entspannt, während Ray Man einen ausgedehnten Besuch im Traumland genoss. Am Nachmittag fuhren wir ins Kacang Putih Village in Ipoh, um uns mit reichlich Kacang Putih (auch bekannt als Bombay Mix) Snacks einzudecken. Wir besuchten mehrere Läden und kauften – natürlich – mehr Snacks, als wir eigentlich vorhatten!
🇺🇸 Cumulus clouds on the way already warned us of upcoming thunderstorms, but they should only hit us when we arrived at the house…. luckily there was enough time for Anja’s favorite bouncy noodles at Ong Kee and sunset at Ipoh city center! Also: Take note of the size of the trees here!
Especially the dry Kuey Teow (noodles) and bean sprouts are incredible (don’t be deceived by the reviews, but yes, the staff is as “friendly” as many people from Berlin….).
🇩🇪 Kumuluswolken auf dem Weg warnten uns bereits vor bevorstehenden Gewittern, aber zum Glück sollten sie uns erst erreichen, wenn wir zu Hause angekommen wären… Glücklicherweise blieb noch genug Zeit für Anjas liebste federnde Nudeln bei Ong Kee und Sonnenuntergang in der Innenstadt! Und: Man beachte die Größe der Bäume hier!
Besonders die trockenen Kuey Teow (Nudeln) und die Sojasprossen sind unglaublich (lasst euch nicht von den Bewertungen täuschen – aber ja, das Personal ist tatsächlich so „freundlich“ wie viele Leute aus Berlin…).

🇩🇪 Die Innenstadt von Ipoh ist auch bei nacht sehr bunt und ziemlich lebendig.
🇺🇸 And also when there is no CNY, most lanterns will still be lit up (but it is really hard to capture that with just a phone camera).
🇩🇪 Und auch wenn kein Chinesisches Neujahr ist, sind die meisten Laternen trotzdem noch beleuchtet (aber das mit einer Handy-Kamera einzufangen, ist wirklich schwer).
🇺🇸 We then treated ourselves to some Kaya puffs (Kaya = pandan, butter, sugar) at Sin Eng Hoe.
🇩🇪 Wir haben uns dann noch Kaya-Puffs (Kaya = Pandan, Butter, Zucker) bei Sin Eng Hoe gegönnt.
